Activities in Phillip Island, Australia

About 140 km away from Melbourne, this island is named after the first governor of South Wales, Arthur Philip. Its area is approximately 10,000 hectares with 26 km long and 9 km wide. Besides being part of the Bass coastline, Phillips Island has a 97 km coastline as well. Newhaven, a town in the island, is connected to San Remo, another mainland town by a 640 km concrete bridge. Apart from being a farmland, the island is also devoted to grazing of sheep and cattle.
