Lakshadweep is a group of islands located in the south of India in Kerala. With only thirty two square kilometer the island is the smallest Union Territory of India. The term Lakshadweep literally means one hundred thousand islands in Sanskrit and it is very sparsely populated. The Tourism sector is one of the newly developed sectors in Lakshadweep and the local government sees it as a developing economy.
